Heading to Lightning Ridge (NSW), Opalton (QLD), and opal mecca, Coober Pedy (SA), the series follows crews of fearless opal miners on their mission to unearth a fortune in some of Australia's harshest and remote landscapes.
The stakes are real as these crews risk it all in their quest to strike it rich. Outback Opal Hunters is a rollercoaster of hope and heartbreak as we delve deep inside the world of opal mining to find out just what it is that has our crews hooked on the hunt.

Brothers Peter and Mick Cooke face off in a scrapheap challenge to build a opal hunting machine. And, the rookies resort to night time hunting.

Desperate to move more rock, the rookies get a lesson in the dangerous art of bomb-making. Plus, Kelly is forced to sell her precious reserve of stones.
Season 01 - Episode 7
With the end of the season approaching, the rookies risk cave-ins at their abandoned mine claim. Deep underground, George is trapped in the blast zone.
Season 01 - Episode 8
The mining season is almost over and Col's crew take one last gamble. The Cooke brothers strive to save their mega opal machine and disastrous season.
